About me

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Dave. First of all let’s address the elephant in the room…I’m not Rick Stein. Ok maybe on a galloping horse but other than that, the only similarity is that  I love cooking. The other one is that  I am passionate and dedicated to my art and delivering the best service to my clients.

A bit about me – I’m married to my very lovely supportive, tolerant wife, videographer and business partner Vicky and have two kids who have now made their way in the world, one working in the video gaming industry and the other as a paediatric surgeon. I couldn’t be a prouder dad! I also have a cat. I think she is my pet but in reality, I am her servant catering to her every whim. If you have a cat you will understand :o)

My Style

“….Dave produced a wealth of gorgeous, classic images whilst barely being noticeable throughout the entire event…..”

Yep. That’s me and exactly what I aim to do….and this is my guiding principle -

"Photography, to me, is catching a moment which is passing, and which is true."
(
Jacques-Henri Lartigue)

Anyone can get a group of people to smile into a camera. At the end you have a record of your event but no story or powerful memories. My approach is very different……

You can read more about my style and how I go about making your wedding day full of wonderful stories and memories.

So why not look me up - we can sit down for a coffee and chat about how I can make your day memorable without taking you away from all the fun!

How I got here

I have been a photographer for several years, arriving here later in life after a career in academia and as a musician. Serious photography went by the wayside for quite some time as I raised my children and held down my day job.

Roll on a few years, I once more got really serious with photography. I explored several genres eventually developing a passion for documentary/street photography and fine art photography. (If you want to see some of this work then click here).

I started event and wedding photography by being asked to photograph gigs, events and weddings – it’s an ideal fit, blending my love of music and documentary photography.

I’ve won several awards for my work along the way in international competitions, and seen it published online and in print. I have a Licentiateship from the Royal Photographic Society and I’m working my way towards the Fellowship.
