Instant favourites #6 “Let the Children Play”

Anyone who is a bit of a Santana fan knows this song, one of my favourites from the classic Santana album “Moonflower”, one that I’ve had and enjoyed since I was very young. The song is light, breezy and flowing….anyway, enough reminiscing. But it’s why I’m writing this. In weddings now and in the past, children play a major part – formally as bridesmaids, pages etc. But beyond that, in the best weddings, they are the informal stars of the occasion – given licence to play, run around, go feral and generally show off without their parents necessarily reigning them in. Furthermore, it is sugar-fuelled fun – they never run out of energy, skittering around, chattering when their elders, for one reason or another, are beginning to flag. So as a documentary photographer, it is always worth keeping an eye on this for some priceless moments. They, or their parents, may look upon these images in years to come, bringing back some happy and perhaps nostalgic memories. Job done.

An extraordinary way to capture the story of your wedding day!
