Shrigley Hall hotel Cheshire wedding of Phil and Sian - August 2024

The amazing musical wedding of Phil and Sian…….with added fireworks!

Sweet soul music and dazzling fireworks.

Read on.

A wedding day should be a reflection of the love story between the bride and the groom. Imagine this - top hat, tails, a bountiful provision of live music, a dazzling fireworks display in the stunning surroundings of the Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa. Phil and Sian’s love of music and all things musical and their large community of family and friends (musical and non-musical) gave direction and meaning to this day. From the ceremony at Tytherington Family  Worship accompanied by Hawk Green Brass Band (recently promoted to  2nd section I hear) with around two hundred attendees in a modern church festooned with musical decorations, lovingly hand-made by Sian’s nephew. We move on to the reception at The Shrigley Hall Hotel accompanied by the “Café Society” jazz quartet Phil normally plays in with his best man. Both are adorned in top hats and tails. I was going to include the words “traditional” and “formal” to describe their attire, but in fact, the tradition is rare these days. Nor would I describe it as formal because these two were anything but. This is more reflective of the roaring 20’s vibe of their band – sophisticated,  exuberant and all fun.

As the light faded away on a great day with a stunning sunset we were treated to a stunning fireworks display at the front of the hotel. The soundtrack for the rest of the evening was provided by the amazing “Zoot Serious and the Bellyful of Bop” – and 11-piece playing soul and blues covers to a packed dance floor. What a day……!
